Dual gauge pod

Plan-

what I want to do

With the addition of a Lexus AFM, 550cc injectors and a waste gate controller, I needed to install a boost gauge and exhaust temp gauge for monitoring.  Since this is my everyday driver, I didn't want to block off my glove box.  I decided to go with a dual gauge pod.

Project-

what I did

The pod came with stick on velcro and I haven't had too much luck with this staying put in the Florida afternoon sun.  I wanted something more permanent and reliable. and decided to use screws.  I was going to have to put holes in the pillar cover for the gauge lines/wires anyway, so I wasn't too concerned with a few more for screws.

Top

Difficulty-

things that made it hard

1- I could not find a pod that said it was for the MkIII Supra, only the MkIV.  The A pillars must be practically the same as the Mk IV pod does fit my car.

Top

Problems-

with the product/install or that came up later

1- The pod may have been inexpensive, but it also turned out to be cheap.  It has warped somewhat on the heat.  The Lo-Tek completely replaces the factory pillar (no holes drilled in the factory pillar) and that is what I will go with next time in spite of the wait.

Payoff-

what I felt the "bang for the buck" was

I wanted to have a place to mount my new gauges without destroying the everyday function of the glove box, cigarette lighter, or vents.  This pod does all that, the payoff for this was a good one.

Stock-

specs/info on the stock item

None.

Upgrade-

benefits of the new item

As I've said, I'd get the Lo-Tek next time.
