The driver's door handle has cracked where the mounting bolt is
underneath. Another problem many Supra owners have seen. Again, I was
fortunate to have a parts car as a new handle is $80.00 unpainted.

The Project. |
|
The handle on my parts car was in good shape, but it was blue.
The first thing I did was to strip the blue paint off of it.
With that done, I wet sanded it with emery cloth to remove a couple
of scratches. I sprayed on a coat of primer and then wet
sanded it again. I got rough patches on the inside of the
handle recess. After wet sanding and a few coats of primer,
those went away.

The Payoff. |
|
This is as far as I have gotten on this repair. Winter set in
in Missouri, not a good time to paint.
