Rear Ended.

Plan.

More photos below.

On a rainy night in Jacksonville Florida I stopped at a light and the guy behind me didn't.  Good thing neither of us was going very fast.  He caused about $800.00 in damage to my Supra since he pushed the right side of the bumper in a bit and caused a dent in the fender just in front of the right rear tire well.  I'm glad it was minor.  It pains me to see a destroyed Supra.

The Project.

My next door neighbor owns a body shop and I opted to have him do the work.  For $600.00 more out of pocket he sanded and painted the whole car.  It was right around Thanksgiving and he had my car for almost 3 weeks which I didn't like, but it sure was pretty when I got it back.

Difficulty.

Waiting was the only hard part.

The Problems.

1- In the years since I have come to realize the shop didn't mix the paint well.  The bumpers have a few cracks in them as the paint wasn't flexible enough and a in a few places the paint has flaked off the hood.

The Payoff.

Who can say that spending mostly insurance money to go from faded front and rear clips to nice paint all around isn't a good payoff?  Of course, I would rather the car not have been wrecked at all.

The clips are faded and I still have stripes.

I have other pictures, my capture card is down.

Pretty new paint.
